Our Story
PhidiPup Jumpers started with curiosity, turned into genuine love, and slowly became the kind of business I wanted to build with care.

How it started
I did not grow up as someone who loved spiders. If anything, I had a slight aversion to them. Part of what drew me to jumping spiders in the first place was seeing them on social media and realizing they seemed completely different from what I had always assumed.
They looked curious, expressive, and surprisingly easy to connect with. What started as interest quickly turned into wanting to understand them better. The more I learned about their behavior, the more that old discomfort faded. In its place, I found a real appreciation for how intelligent, unique, and honestly adorable they are.
A big part of that came from learning how they move through the world. Once I understood more about how jumping spiders see, hunt, explore, and respond to their surroundings, I started to appreciate just how incredible their biology is. That understanding changed everything for me.
PhidiPup Jumpers grew out of that experience. I wanted to build something that reflected the softer side of the hobby and made these spiders feel more approachable, especially for people who might be where I was at the beginning. Curious, interested, but maybe still a little unsure.
The name felt right for that reason too. Phidi comes from Phidippus, and Pup comes from Web Puppies, which is one of the sweetest nicknames people use for jumping spiders. It captures the side of them that made me fall in love with them in the first place.
My goal with this shop is to offer regal jumping spiders, starter kits, and accessories in a way that feels thoughtful, personal, and beginner-friendly. I want people to feel excited about bringing one home, and I want them to feel supported while they learn.
This business is still growing, and that is part of the story too. I am building it carefully, learning as I go, and putting real attention into every part of the experience. PhidiPup Jumpers is personal to me, and I want that to come through in the way the shop feels.
